My Epileptic Life .... 10 Facts About Me

I am always saying that I’m not my epilepsy. I’m not my condition. I am far more than that.
If you have read previous blogs (which I hope you have) you will already know bits about my life, my family and my job. ... if you love the stories about life with a teenager then please keep on following this blog because there are many more of those stories to come!
For this blog, however, I wanted to expand on the fact that I am not my epilepsy and share with you all 10 facts about me. Not just facts about my family or epilepsy but the things that make me me.
P

I wasn’t born with epilepsy, I developed it in my early 20’s
This is the only fact relating to epilepsy I am going to share but I think it’s important that people know I wasn’t born with it, you can actually develop epilepsy at ANY age

I am super academic and love to learn
I have been called a nerd on many occasions and I’m totally fine with that!! I love learning and studying and reading ..... and post it notes!!. I think it’s really awesome to learn new things .. it’s a love  I am desperately trying to pass on to the teenager

I own over 50 lipsticks
I think on last count I had 54. My mum calls it and addiction I call it a hobby. I never leave the house without lipstick on. My most favourite brand is Number 7 but I am also loving the HUDA beauty liquid lipsticks at the minute too!!!

My biggest fear is someone breaking into my house while I am asleep
I’ve never been entirely sure where this fear comes from as far as I am aware nobody has ever attempted to break into any house I’ve ever lived in. It has, however, been one of my fears for as long as I can remember .

I love real crime programmes
Thinking about this now this probably explains my fear!! Ha!

My all time favourite scent for candles and stuff is Fresh Linen! I love it.

As a child I always wanted a King Charles caviliar and now I have two!! I have a ruby boy called Charlie and a Black and Tan girl called Poppy. I also have a cat called cinnamon. We love animals in this house!!

I always ask questions when I go to the cinemas
I would love to say this is because of my epilepsy but I’ve ALWAYS asked questions at the cinemas ... mainly because I like to check that what I think is happening is actually happening haha!

I am always cold and sleep with two duvets and a blanket.
One year when we had lots of snow and it was super cold I slept in a hoody, tracksuit  bottoms, bed socks, pjs and ear muffs as well as the duvets and blanket!!!!
I like to think I’m cold blooded but warm hearted!

Winston Churchill is my hero. When I did my GCSE English I read a book about good old Winston and just fell in love with him! What a leader :)

So there we go, 10 random and not remotely interesting facts about me.
The point of this blog isn’t really to tell you all about my love of real crimes or my habit of talking through every movie I have ever watched, it’s to show you that everyone with epilepsy is different. There will be others with the same condition that hate real crimes or are terrified of dogs.

We should always remember to never assume everyone with the same condition is the same. We are all different, unique and all amazing in our own way.
