Teenage dramas part two

The teenage and revision dramas have continued this week and I have found myself sounding like my dad more and more each day!!! I must have paced up and down the kitchen/hallway/living room at least once a day, ranting and pointing to my head while asking the teenager if anything I am saying is sinking in!!
To be honest, I can understand in a way his reluctance to revise ... even after all these years I still break out into a cold sweat every time he produces a mock maths paper!. Thankfully my G.C.S.E days are well behind me, unfortunately for the teenager his are not!.
This week we banned the mobile phone on an evening , in the hope that without a constant supply of YouTube videos he will get bored and resort to revision as entertainment. When this decision was announced you would have thought we had told him we were chopping his arm off!!. The look of distress on his face was so bad that I actually started to panic that maybe his vital organs were somehow attached to his phone and by taking it away I was destroying his life!. Thankfully the only thing taking his phone from him has destroyed is his snapchat streaks and his YouTube subscribers, although apparently those things are actually life!!!
In fairness to the teenager, once he realised we were serious he has actually got on with it and done some revision.
Which then brought me another problem .... I have no idea what he’s talking about!!!. For English and Maths it’s fine, I can hold my own with those subjects, but he’s studying computer sciences!!! I can barely turn on an iPad and so I have no clue what he’s talking about a solid 90 percent of the time!.
Let me set the scene for you .... I’m sat on the sofa holding some form of computer science revision guide, frantically flipping through it looking for the answers to the questions, while the teenager reels off 6 million facts about strings or arrays or something else I don’t understand! Resulting in me just telling him he’s right, crossing my fingers and hoping for the best!!!! Top parenting right there!!!

I’m just hoping I can keep winging it until May!!!!
