365 Seizure Free: Day 3
“when life gives you lemons … throw them back twice as hard”
Life has not only given me lemons this past week, it has thrown them at me by the bucketful. At the start of the summer holidays, a new seizure free challenge had not been on my list of must dos. As of this week, however, it has become the biggest must do. Not just for the summer but for the next 365 days.
A year seems like a long time and when you are waiting to be seizure free it feels like an eternity. When you stand at the beginning of the seizure free race track it appears to go on forever, up steep hills, across raging rivers and over miles and miles of uneven ground. Taking the first few steps is terrifying. It is like stepping into the unknown but to get yourself back to some sort of normal reality you must complete the race.
On Saturday I took my first steps onto the track. Bambi like steps but steps non the less. If I said I am not annoyed by the situation or desperate to be one-year seizure free I would be lying. However, as I get older and grow as a person I am learning to accept the circumstances I am dealt, focus on the positives and use each experience as an opportunity for growth and new adventure. I have decided to document this adventure. My aim is to blog every day and share with you the ups and downs of this journey. Although in true Jade style I forgot to blog the first two days!! You guys can come along and experience the next 363 days of the challenge.
I have pulled my big girl pants up. Game on!!!
